What Is a Day Program?
Golden Psychology’s Day Programs offer intensive, structured mental health support for individuals who need more than weekly therapy but don’t require 24/7 hospitalization. Designed for adults and adolescents navigating periods of emotional overwhelm, crisis, or transition, our programs provide a powerful balance of depth and flexibility—allowing you to receive meaningful care while continuing to live at home or in a supportive environment.
Adult and Adolescent clients attend multiple group therapy sessions and receive individual counseling each week. Each client’s schedule is tailored to promote stability, insight, and real progress. Our evidence-based approach uses therapy that works to help you develop tools, understand your patterns, and begin to feel like yourself again. Most people engage with the program for several weeks or months, depending on their needs. OUr goal is to get you back to feeling
Adolescent Day Program
Our Adolescent Day Program at Golden Psychology is a safe, structured, and affirming space for teens who need more intensive mental health support. Designed to meet young people where they are, our program helps adolescents manage emotional distress, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies—all while remaining connected to their families and communities.
Each participant receives a personalized treatment plan that includes core therapeutic sessions: individual therapy, family therapy, DBT skills groups, processing groups, and parent or multifamily DBT sessions.
These evidence-based approaches foster emotional regulation, improve communication, and support stronger connections between teens and their caregivers.
In addition to core sessions, we offer a wide range of electives that allow teens to explore specific areas of need and interest. These include:
– Executive Functioning (for planning, focus, and follow-through)
– Identity Group (support for exploring gender, sexuality, and sense of self)
– Trauma (healing from past experiences in a safe and guided way)
– ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- for treating anxiety and gaining control over your thoughts)
– Boundaries and Healthy Relationships (to help you get what you need out of your relationships)
– CBT-I Sleep (support for sleep difficulties)
– Art Therapy (creative expression as a path to healing)
– Support for Parents of Queer Adolescents (a group where parents can support each other and explore concerns)
– Substance Use Education and Support
Our goal is to help adolescents and their families navigate challenging times with compassion, structure, and skill. Whether your teen is dealing with anxiety, depression, identity stress, trauma, or behavioral challenges, our program provides the tools and support they need to begin feeling more in control, connected, and hopeful.
