THERAPY GROUPS
Our clinicians and social work trainees offer a variety of support groups for clients interested in learning new skills, exploring specific aspects of mental health, and finding connection with other community members dealing with similar circumstances
We are currently enrolling the following groups:
Seasonal Affective Disorder Support Skills Group
Age range: 18+
Facilitated by: Birtu Belete, LMSW
Topic: Shifting Seasons is an LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent-affirming support space and skills training group. This group will teach participants valuable DBT and CBT-SAD skills.
Mondays, 5:45-7pm
Dates: Begins October 13th, 2025
Location: Near Union Square

Trans Femme Support Group
Age range: 18+
Facilitated by: Vera Cohen, LMSW and Victoria Holland, Therapy Trainee
Topic: Weekly processing group geared towards adults (18+) who identity as trans femme and trans women. We will use this space primarily to meet and connect with other trans femmes, to process current events, and to share ideas, strengths, and compassion.
Mondays, 6:00-7:15pm

Asian Support Group
Age range: 18+
Facilitated by: Bella Xie, LMSW
Topic: This virtual group is for Asian adults and offers a safe, healing space to build community and explore personal journeys. Participants will receive emotional support, access practical resources, and share compassion with one another.

LGBTQIA+ DBT Skills Group
Age range: 18+

Topic: This group is geared towards individuals who are looking for DBT skills training in a gender and sexuality-affirming + supportive environment.
Tuesdays, 5:45-7 p.m.

Student Support Group
Age range: 18+

Topic: This support group is for students seeking a space to connect with other students, share journeys, process distress, navigate stress and life transitions, and gain skills for approaching challenges with more clarity and effectiveness.

Multi-Family DBT Skills Group
Age range: teens and family
Facilitated by: Birtu Belete, LMSW and Katarina Bartel, LMSW
Topic: This DBT skills group is designed to help teens and their families learn core DBT skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Teens and caregivers will learn emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills together so that caregivers can reinforce skills practice outside of group.
Wednesdays, 5:45—7:00pm

Parent Processing Group
For: Parents and caregivers of transgender, nonbinary, & gender-expansive youth in NY, NJ, and VT

Topic: This virtual group will give participants the opportunity to build community, process feelings, and gain skills and knowledge to help create a more affirming environment for their gender-expansive loved ones.
