Emma Rothman

Emma Rothman, LMSW (she/her) is a psychotherapist who specializes in trauma-informed, client-led care for adolescents and adults. She draws from a range of therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and is trained in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and integration.

Emma brings personal insight to her work, particularly in supporting adolescents and young adults (AYA) through the often-overlooked transition from pediatric to adult care—a developmental period that frequently involves navigating complex healthcare and social systems. Her approach centers clients’ agency and autonomy, prioritizing collaboration, building medical literacy, and grounding care in an anti-oppressive framework.

In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Emma consults with research teams to help integrate trauma-informed language and patient-centered values into their projects. Her background includes sexual and reproductive health education, research on patient-reported outcomes, non-heteronormative relationships, and advocacy within the organ, tissue, and transplant community.

Emma is committed to cultivating a therapeutic space where people are respected, heard, and affirmed regardless of their identity, spiritual, or cultural background.
