Our Values
EMBODIMENT- We acknowledge and value our clients’ whole self. We seek to create a space that invites our clients, and our staff, to feel safe in embodying their whole self. We value all people’s humanity and experiences.
COMPASSION- We are committed to compassionate care. We strive to build environments with our clients that encourage them to center their truth and vulnerability. As clinicians, we are committed to partnering with our clients in holding and processing their traumas and experiences in a way that lessens the trauma burden they have to carry.
ACCEPTANCE and CHANGE- We believe in a balance between acceptance and change. We are centered in supporting our clients in gaining mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance skills. We strive to support our clients in building a life worth living.
JUSTICE- We are a restorative justice-oriented practice. We acknowledge that most traumas are a direct result from institutional systems that were not created to meet the needs of all people. In an effort to navigate and combat these systems, we consult with institutions and communities to make excellent gender-affirming care more accessible.
COMMUNITY- Our practice is built on openness and collaboration. We believe that we are stronger together. To acknowledge this truth, our staff embody a level of humility that welcomes teamwork and honest feedback. Our practitioners believe our clients as the expert of their lives, and consult with them to ensure that their care is specially tailored to their needs. To support this individualized client care, our clinicians also regularly partner with each other, as well as relevant institutions and communities, to share information and problem solve so that our clients are receiving the best care possible.
