Bella Xie
Bella Xie (she/her) is a second-year Advanced Clinical Practice intern at Columbia School of Social Work, specializing in trauma-informed, patient-centered care for clients across all life stages, from adolescents to the elderly. Bella incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), mindfulness techniques, and a strength-based approach to guide clients toward aligning with their thoughts and unlocking their fullest potential in order to meet their personal goals. She explores how both macro and microsystems enable and constrain individual functioning, with a focus on biological, social, and psychological domains. Through this exploration, she helps clients gain a comprehensive understanding of how these forces interact to shape their perspectives and outcomes.
Her professional experience spans working with youth and their families, with a particular focus on neurodivergent individuals, supporting them in areas such as emotional regulation, social communication, and attentiveness. She has also worked with young adults navigating anxiety and relationship challenges in their home, school, or professional environments. Additionally, Bella has extensive experience in providing support and company to middle-aged and older adults coping with depression, loneliness, and pain.
Committed to fostering inclusivity, Bella is dedicated to making mental health support accessible to people of all genders, sexualities, beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds. Bella's practice centers on helping clients achieve balance in their lives, supporting both their internal growth and external success every step of the way. She prioritizes creating a safe and empowering environment where clients feel heard, validated, and encouraged to take pride in their journey towards well-being.
