FLOURISH RESEARCH COLLABORATIVE
flour·ish (verb): to grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment
Flourish Research Collaborative was built by Rachel Lynn Golden, PhD (they/them), Founder and Director of Golden Psychology and Jae Sevelius, PhD (they/them), Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Flourish aims to increase access to safe, effective, and culturally responsive psychedelic-assisted therapy, preparation, and integration services for transgender and gender-expansive communities.
Flourish Research Collaborative supports research initiatives such as KAP+Pride and KAP+DBT+Pride. These studies seek to develop a model of group Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy for Transgender and Gender Expansive folx to co-heal in community and study the impact of Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy when provided in community by community members.
These studies aim to reduce the effects of chronic traumatic gender invalidation, to reduce the mental health burden of living in a non-gender affirming society, and to promote gender joy.
FLOURISH: KINDRED
HEALING IN COMMUNITY
In the summer of 2024, Golden Psychology offered a 9-week, grant-funded *free Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy group for Trans and Gender-Expansive individuals, led by Trans and Gender-Expansive group leaders.
The group was run by Golden Psychology as a part of the Flourish Research Collaborative, a partnership with Jae Sevelius, PhD at Columbia University.
We are currently processing the qualitative and quantitative data we collected throughout the study and are excited to present and publish this information this year. We will also be using the data to apply for a next round of grants to expand our research and facilitate more groups.
FLOURISH:KINDRED is being funded, in part, by a grant from Healing Hearts Changing Minds.
Please check back for any future opportunities.
