Clementine Thompson, LMSW
I’m Clementine, and doing the work of therapy is one of my favorite things in the world. If you are trans and some shade of queer, an artist, or someone who identifies themselves as counterculture, and you are looking for a therapist who shares any of these experiences with you, I fit those descriptions.
My approach to therapy is characterized by the belief that the client and clinician (or whichever words you use to describe this connection) are fellow travelers moving through life. Regardless of what you may be bringing into therapy, I am excited to get to know you and travel together from there.
In my practice, I draw from ACT, DBT, humanistic therapy, and cognitive restructuring–schools of therapy that best fit my outlook on seizing the day and experiencing the joys and pains of life. And in session, I often use and teach skills to assist clients in connecting with their bodies, their values, and their relationships with others and themselves. I have experience working with clients identifying themselves from all over the trans, gender-nonconforming, and queer spectrums and from ages ranging from 18 to 50.
As for a bit about my background, I am originally from San Francisco, am a graduate of Pomona College (BA in Psychological Science) and Columbia University (MS in Social Work), and also work as a researcher, teacher, and experimental musician.
