Baylor Andrews, MHC-LP
At the end of Inside Out, Joy realizes that she can’t protect Riley from sadness by pushing Sadness away. Instead, she learns that Riley’s well-being depends on allowing all her feelings, especially Sadness, to be felt and expressed. Even if you’ve never seen the movie, the takeaway is, we all have multiple different parts that make up who we are. As a therapist, Baylor helps you make space for all those parts to exist together, with care and compassion, along with a sprinkle of humor, where appropriate.
Baylor is a therapist and community organizer who understands that the world is a complex place. They view therapy not just as a tool for individual healing, but also as a way to process, develop, and transform both personal and collective experiences.
With a background in community organizing around queer and trans justice, food and land sovereignty, and gender-based violence, Baylor brings this lived experience into their therapeutic work. Their practice is grounded in a trauma-informed approach and shaped by disability and healing justice frameworks.
Baylor’s work goes beyond traditional talk therapy. They incorporate somatic practices (working with the body’s sensations and movements) as well as elements of art and play therapy, creating space for healing that is creative, embodied, and affirming.
