Katerina Bartel, LMSW

Katarina (she/her) is a queer-identifying psychotherapist and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a background in neuroscience. Katarina’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed and strengths-based. She values the autonomy of her clients and believes that each person is the expert of their own life. Katarina enjoys employing mindfulness and DBT skills to help clients reach their goals. She is committed to providing non-judgemental care that is appropriate and respectful regardless of racial identity, sexual identity, cultural background, ethnicity, gender, or lifestyle.

Katarina is certified in Motivational Interviewing and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition to adult and adolescent psychotherapy, she has experience providing behavioral and emotional support to adolescents in schools, counseling undocumented young people and asylum seekers, and treating isolation and loneliness among older adults during the pandemic. Katarina received her Master's of Social Work from Columbia School of Social Work and has a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University.
