About Lida

Lida Rubanava (they/them), LMSW, takes an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing upon various aspects of cognitive-behavioral, somatic, and psychodynamic methods to create their own custom-made approach for every client’s unique positionality and life circumstances. They are also the Project Manager for Psychedelic Symposium, a New York City based grassroots advocacy and production collective founded by social workers with the goal of uniting like-minded psychedelic professionals and scholars in community & solidarity.

Lida has experience working with immigrants, children and families. They utilize both their own life experience and extensive sexology research to support their work with adult clients on dating, relating, gender and sexual identity. As a queer, kinky, non-binary Belarussian, Lida deeply values inclusivity and is committed to providing care for people who have historically been excluded by mental health professionals.

Lida holds a Masters of Social Work degree from New York University and a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Boston University. They are especially passionate about providing support for artists and entertainment industry professionals due to the industry’s unique stressors of financial instability, demanding schedules, transient work and its impact on relationships, and lack of permanency.
